Episode 85: Crotchety Rock

0085 Moving MoviesDear listeners, this week, we bring you our first cross-country recording! Through the wonders of modern technology, this episode was created while Melissa was in Minnesota and Windy was in Texas. In honor of this, we bring you an episode about moving movies (as in movies about characters who are in the process of changing residence, just like both of us).

Since this was our first go at a recording session via Google Hangouts, we had some challenges with the audio. Windy’s audio improves dramatically after the first few minutes, so please hang in there. Also, there is a computer fan whir that occasionally intrudes, so… sorry about that. We now know what we need to fix for next time.

If you would like to drink along, we recommend Windy’s choice of La Puerta Malbec! (We don’t really recommend Melissa’s choice of Killepitsch, unless you are either insatiably curious or unhealthily fascinated by herbs.)

Here are some screenshots from our recording session!

  1. Grumpy Old Men w/ The Rock and Vin Diesel! IT WOULD BE AWESOME. I AM SO ON BOARD WITH THIS.

Speaking of uncanny replacement singers? We bought the latest couple of Queensryche records. Geoff Tate isn’t on them, but you would only be able to tell (in the case of most songs, anyway) if someone outright told you. It’s a bit uncanny.

I’m glad I was able to add value to the podcast this week! Twice! Oh, and I finished the Ann Leckie’s “Ancillary” trilogy. It ends quite satisfactorily. (My copy of “Ancillary Mercy” is signed, too. Yay, living closer to where book signings happen in this town!)
