I’ve seen Beneath far too many times, probably for the same reason I’ve seen Megaforce and The Pirate Movie and something called Superfuzz (…oh, poor Ernest Borgnine) a bunch of times: Back when HBO and Cinemax were the cable movie channels you could get in rural Washington state (on your 13-channel TV) they would run certain movies over. And over. And over. It’d be Megaforce in the mix for a month, then it’d be back again a few months later, and so on. For some reason they really liked using Beneath more than any of the others.

    Basically, I grew up thinking that the bomb cult was the most important part of the Apes movie canon. Sad, no?
