Captain America: Civil WarDear listeners, this week we are joined by David Tyler McKay for an episode full of nerdlove for Captain America: Civil War! We start off with a few minutes of spoiler-free territory, then plunge straight into the Spoiler Zone, so you’ll probably want to see the movie before listening to the episode.

If you would like to drink along, we recommend either Bushmills Irish Whiskey (Melissa’s pick), New Amsterdam Vodka (David’s pick), or Grupo Olarra ‘Acantus’ Cabernet Sauvignon/Tempranillo (Windy’s pick) (it’s red).

  1. Civil War was as good a movie with the mandated You Will Cram These Characters In as we were going to get, I think. It’s super busy, and I think we could’ve gotten an Avengers and a Cap movie out of this but well, it is what it is. Winter Soldier is a better movie, but if you’re going to make a post-Ultron “statement” film, here you go.

I’m amazed nobody brought up that the Sharon Carter / Steve Rogers kiss was the most pointless and lifeless bit of the whole movie, except for the Two Dorks Giving The Nod From The Beetle part…

    1. The kiss definitely bugged me, but we definitely had more than enough to talk about.

That said, if I were friends with a person who’d not gotten any action since World War II and I saw them snogging someone, I’d give an approving nod, too.
