Episode 25: Friends, Romans, Countrymen… WHERE’S THE JOKER?

, with special guest:

Xanadu Sq LogoThis week, we have DC Comics artist Christopher “Danger” Jones, Esq. back one more time, and we FINALLY ask him about the media thing he cares about most: the Batman. This bat-episode is filled with bat-ness!

If you need a bat-drink while you enjoy our bat-chat, we suggest an Angry Orchard Apple Ginger Hard Cider. We’re not sure if that’s something that Bruce Wayne would keep in his bat-fridge, but it does happen to be what we were bat-drinking back in May when we recorded this episode.

  1. See, I really liked the Tim Burton Batman movies. Before these movies, Only super-friends (and Scooby Doo movies) and the Adam West Batman was all I knew. Jack Nicholson was only my first “crazy violent” version. I also had no known (to what I remember at that age) reference to “crazy Nicholson”, so it never colored any expectations for me.

Speaking of Melissa getting drunk and trying to feed a movie projector, what sort of protectionist-related problems have you ever experienced in a theater?

I saw an article getting passed around Facebook over the weekend about someone going to see Guardians of the Galaxy’s midnight release and the protectionist loaded up Rise of the Guardians instead.

My personal experience with a protectionist mishap was seeing The Blair Witch Project. Somewhere in the middle of the film, after the three kids are thoroughly freaked out and making crazed night-time confessions into their cameras, the projectionist forgot to queue up the next reel and so the screen just went dark and the soundtrack stopped. We sat in the darkness and silence for something like five minutes before someone went out and caught the attention of management to fix the problem.

Oh, dang it. I’m writing this on my phone and it auto-corrected “projectionist” to “protectionist” and I forgot to fix that before posting.
