  1. I think the reason Wizard of Speed and Time was shown upside down and backwards immediately after it was shown forwards was an artifact of the analog age. That’s how they rewound the reel so they could show it again. If you show it digitally and do the same thing, you’re just mimicking the old experience but without the vital context of the nature of 16mm celluloid film as a physical object (see “Q.U.R.” and “Robinc”, both by Anthony Boucher, for an explanation of mimickry as a dead end in design and aesthetics).
