Birdy: The movie I watched solely because I was a HUGE Peter Gabriel fan, and hey, I have the soundtrack, and… yep. That was a thing that happened.
Lord of War: I saw it in the theater, and man, what a spectacularly dark movie! I think that’s why it bombed, honestly… it’s a bit too on the nose about a topic American audiences aren’t terribly comfortable with on some levels. Cage does an AMAZING job in it, though. What a film!
Alien from LA: HER VOICE. HOW CAN ANYONE MAKE A SOUND THAT SQUEAKY FROM THEIR VOCAL CORDS? GAAAH.
Yeah, Lord of War is just one of those movies that you can imagine a marketing department shuffling their feet and scratching their heads without a clue what to do with it. Should have slowly built it up the festival circuit, let it build some word of mouth, Donnie Darko style.
