Episode 125: Not Enough Sharks

Off Topic 8This week, we present to you our eighth Off Topic episode!

That’s right folks! We haven’t had one of these in a while! In fact, our previous Off-Topic episode was in 2015!

If you are a newer listener, here’s what’s going on: Windy and I sometimes wander off topic. Or one of our husbands starts talking to us. Or a dog rampages into the room. Or we just can’t talk properly, because we’re drunk. That means that there is a lot of audio that gets clipped out of our regular episodes. Our Off Topic episodes are your chance to hear the best of our outtakes.

The bits you are about to hear were all recorded sometime between December 2015 and January 2017. The samples range wildly in subject matter, audio quality, and coherence.

In addition to Windy’s voice and my voice, you will also hear the voices of:

Alee Ellingsberg
David Tyler McKay
Duck Washington
Fes Works
Jerry Belich
Luke Mullen
Paul Comeau

Episode 116: And That’s Where It All Goes Gooey

Science Gone WrongThis week, dear listeners, we return with guest Duck Washington for a conversation about science gone wrong in movies! We discuss many of our favorite sci-fi films in terms of ethics, real-life dilemmas, and copious amounts of wine.

If you would like to drink along (and you very well might), we suggest either the classy Piattelli Vineyards Malbec or the ever-reliable Low Hanging Fruit Merlot Reserve.

Edited June 23rd, 2016 to add:

One of our fine Brians, Mr. Donohue, has created a lovely title card for this episode. Witness its kaijutastic glory!

Episode 111: Scary Evil Ethnic Natives

Racism in MoviesThis week, dear listeners, we have far too much fun discussing RACISM IN MOVIES, because our special guest star is the delightful Duck Washington! Duck is an actor and writer who recently created Caucasian-Aggressive Pandas and Other Mulatto Tales, a stage show about his experience growing up mixed-race, so he has a few things to say about racism.

If you would like to drink along, we recommend either Gnarly Head Cabernet Sauvignon (totally gnarly!) or Low Hanging Fruit Merlot Reserve (because surely you want the higher quality low-hanging fruit).

Here’s a photo of Duck with the wine:
